The International Conference on Technology Education in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICTE) is a biennial international conference promoting the communication and academic exchange on Technology Education. Technology Education is also Known by other subject descriptors such as Design and Technology and Industrial Technology Education, participation is open to all persons interested in Technology Education.
The ICTE constitution was signed in 1997 in Taiwan, and the first conference was held in Taipei, Taiwan in 1997. Successive conferences were held in Canberra, Australia in 2000; Daejeon, Korea in 2001; Auckland, New Zealand in 2003; Hong Kong, China in 2006; San Antonio, USA in 2007; Taipei, Taiwan in 2009; Aichi, Japan in 2011; Nanjing, China in 2013; Hong Kong in 2015; Christchurch, New Zealand in 2017; and Cheongju, South Korea in 2019. The 13th ICTE will be held on the 26th – 29th January, 2021 at the National Taiwan Normal University. It is organized by the Industrial Technology Education Association of Taiwan.
The theme of ICTE 2021 is “Less is More+: Issues of STEM/STEAM, Maker, and Emerging Technology in Technology Education,” which means utilizing the limited resources to facilitate technology education still optimizing student’s learning outcomes. The Organizing Committee also invites submissions of papers on any topics relating to technology education.
